Orient Beach, Galion Beach,
and Oyster Pond Photo Feature

You have two choices for a great view of Orient Bay, all the bnearby islands and St Barts: Paradise View Restaurant and Rancho del Sol. Both sit on hills jusdt off the main highway with all of Orient Bay spreading out below. that's Orient Village in the foreground and Green Cay in the background.

Boo Boo Jam is at the northern end of Orient and Coco and Waikiki come next. Bikini Beach follows. You can't beat the view, and the lunch and waitress put a smile on this guy's face. Lisa, the manager, has brought in a great Asian chef and revamped the kitchen recently. It's worth a visit.

There are other reasons to be happy. The Top Groovers kicked up some raggae tunes and even covered a few Clapton hits. These two cruisers from Canada were happy, possibly too happy as they were about to miss their ship!

Head on down to the beach and you'll find Kakao Beach near the center and this lovely table overlooking the beach. Just a short walk to the south is Kokomarina, serving the usual beach food, but also serving some of the French cuisine that made California Restaurant restaurant famous. A bit further south is Pirate Beach Bar, serving great fish plates and lots more.

These views came from the border between the nude and prude beaches. They are of Green Cay from the chairs at Pedro's Beach Bar. There were some better views in the nude section, but this is a family website.

This is a couple going out for a parasail from the shack between Pedro's Beach Bar and Pirate Beach Bar. It's great fun and and the views are spectacular.

At night the action moves off the beach to Orient Village. A real town square attracts bocce ball players and lots more. Frequently there is music and there are plenty of restaurants. Tai Chi Restaurant serves great sushi and fine Thai cuisine.

If you keep going south, this is the view of the salt pond and the new construction behind Orient Beach from the road heading past the Butterfly Farm and Bayside Riding Stables to Chez Pat on Galion Beach. If you are looking for a calm, sandy beach with great watersports, this is the place.

Bayside Stables can take you horseback riding on the beach and through the surf.

The Villa Lady can get you villas anywhere on the island. Also in Oyster Pond is Beau Beau's Restaurant. They are in the Oyster Bay Beach resort and have an inside air-conditioned area and an outdoor deck with a fabulous view. At night, Calypso King Beau Beau performs. If you are driving around the island, the next location to the south is Philipsburg, north is Cul de Sac and Mont Vernon and northwest is Grand Case.
